Andrés Moreno García

The young mexican tenor Andrés Moreno García began his international professional career in 2013 where he has performed countless opera roles and concerts around the world.

In the season 2017-2018 he joined the Internationales Opernstudio at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and after finishing the studio, in the season 2021-2022 he joined the ensemble of this important opera house.

He has debuted roles such as Tamino Die Zauberflöte, Ferrando Così fan tutte, Rodolfo La bohème, Alfredo La Traviata, Rinuccio Gianni Schicchi, Cantante Italiano Der Rosenkavalier, among many others.

In the concert repertoire he has sung Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and upcoming his debut in Verdi’s Requiem, among many other concert works.

He has sung under the baton of figures such as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Antonio Pappano or Alexander Soddy, shared the stage with figures such as Plácido Domingo, Ramón Vargas, Angela Gheorghiu, Piotr Beczała or Elina Garanča.

Winner of multiple prizes in competitions such as the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Opera Index Competition, Giulio Gari Competition, Opera San Miguel Competition, Amici Competition, Yale Opera and American Opera Idol Competition.

Andrés Moreno García holds a Bachelors in Music from the University of Hartford and Masters in Music from Yale University.
