Carmen Buendía

General Management

Born in Jaén in 1993. In 2013 she began his studies at the Conservatory Rafael Orozco in Cordoba with the tenor Juan Luque, to finish at the Conservatory Luigi Cherubini in Florence with the teacher Donatella Debolini in December 2020. She is currently perfecting her skills with Sonia Ganassi.

Since 2018, she has won numerous prizes in International Singing Competitions among which it is worth mentioning: in addition to having won for four consecutive years a Prize in the Competition of the institution Juventudes Musicales de Madrid; the 2nd Prize Ex -Aequo in the International Lyric Singing Competition Giulio Neri, the 3rd Prize in the Competition Premio Fausto Ricci, the 1st Prize in the International Singing Competition Ciudad de Logroño, the 2nd Prize in the Zarzuela category in the I International Lyric Competition of Alicante, the Extraordinary Prize offered by the Ferrer-Salat Foundation in the 58th Tenor Viñas Competition, the 3rd Prize plus three special prizes in the International Singing Competition Ciudad de Logroño, the 2nd Prize in the Zarzuela category in the I International Lyric Competition of Alicante, the Extraordinary Prize offered by the Ferrer-Salat Foundation in the 58th Tenor Viñas Competition, the 3rd Prize plus three special prizes in the Mario Orlandoni Lyric Singing Competition and the 1st Prize in the Certamen Nuevas Voces Ciudad de Sevilla. In 2022 she obtains the 1st Prize in the IX International Singing Competition Un Futuro DeArte held in the Ducal Palace of Medinaceli and the 1st Prize in the V Singing Competition Compostela Lírica held in Santiago de Compostela this December.

In 2015 she made her debut at the Gran Teatro de Córdoba, in the production of El Dúo de la Africana and a couple of months later she participated in the Accademia Rossiniana of Pesaro and in the production of the opera Il viaggio a Reims with the role of Delia within the Rossini Opera Festival.

From November 2017 to July 2020, she has been an active student of the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, where she has performed numerous concerts and productions interpreting roles such as Berta in of Il Barbiere di Siviglia by G.Rossini, La Suora Infermiera in the opera Suor Angelica and Anna in the opera Nabucco by G.Verdi.

It is worth mentioning her debut in the role of Violetta in the opera La Traviata, at the Teatro Bonci in Cesena, her participation in the concert Invito All’Opera that took place at the Teatro de La Fenice in Venice, together with Maestro Leone Magiera

Recent engagements include her participation as Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro with Jonathan Miller’s regia during the month of May in the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino production, conducted by Maestro Theodor Guschlbauer. Her debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with the regia of Paolo Gavazzeni e Piero Maranghi at the Teatro Comunale of Sassari, conducted by Maestro Sergio Alapont.
