Alexey Zelenkov made his German debut in the spring 2022 as Michonnet in Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur at Deutsche Oper am Rhein. In the 2022–2023 season he returned to Düsseldorf as Scarpia Tosca and sang Amonasro Aida and Ibn-Hakia Iolanta at Theater Kiel. Last season, as an ensemble member at DOR, he performed Sharpless Madama Butterfly, Germont La Traviata and Tonio I Pagliacci. He also made his house debuts at Deutsche Oper Berlin as Bartolo Il Barbiere di Siviglia and at Staatstheater Karlsruhe as Scarpia Tosca. He is opening the current season in the title role of Nabucco in Düsseldorf.

As a leading baritone at Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre NOVAT since 2014 he has built up a vast repertoire including the title roles of Rigoletto, Falstaff, Don Pasquale, Bluebeard and Prince Igor, Germont La Traviata, Renato Un ballo in maschera, Amonasro Aida, Tonio I Pagliacci, Alfio Cavalleria rusticana, Scarpia Tosca, Marcello La Bohème, Escamillo Carmen, Tomsky The Queen of Spades, Shchelkalov Boris Godunov, Ibn-Hakia Iolanta, Mizgir Snegurochka (Snow Maiden), Gryaznoi A Tsar’s Bride, Baron Skupoi ryzar (The Miserly Knight), Lanceotto Malatesta Francesca da Rimini, Tobias Mill La Cambiale di Matrimonio, Bartolo Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Belcore L’Elisir d’Amore, Biterolf Tannhäuser and Bluebeard in Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle (A Kékszákallú herceg vára).

Alexey Zelenkov has appeared as a guest in the title role of Rigoletto at the Bolshoi Theatre Moscow in 2019 and at the Stanislavsky-Nemirovich Music Theatre in 2023–24. He has performed Tomsky in Krasnoyarsk and as Scarpia, Renato, Marcello and Robert Iolanta at Mikhailovsky Theatre St. Petersburg. In 2018 he toured with the NOVAT in South Korea. He obtained his diploma from the Novosibirsk State Conservatory in 2015. He won 2nd prize at the José Carreras Competition 2021, 1st prize at the Myasnikova Competition 2014 and 1st prize at the All-Russian National Competition 2014. He was twice winner of the prestigious Onegin Award 2017 and 2020. For his portrayals of Renato, Tomsky and Tonio he received the Paradise Award 2017 and the same award again in 2018 for his performance of Bluebeard Bluebeard’s Castle.
