Alonso Cano

General Management

Alonso Cano Corrales, born in Guadalajara, studied piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid (RCSMM), graduating under the guidance of Patrín García Barredo. Simultaneously, he trained as a baritone at the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid with Juan Lomba and Duncan Gifford.

 

His artistic development has been further enriched through masterclasses with nationally and internationally renowned figures, including Aquiles Machado, Carlos Álvarez, Vincenzo Spatola, Ermonela Jaho, Siphiwe McKenzie, Brenno Ambrosini, and Josep Colom.


He has established a solid career as a soloist. In 2022, he was awarded Second Prize at the 6th Lied and Art Song Competition of the National Festival “Francisco Torrecillas” in Albox

(Almería). That same year, he performed solo recitals at both the Auditorio Nacional and the

Teatro Real. In 2023, he portrayed Don Quixote in El retablo de Maese Pedro with the National Company of Taiwan and the Utrera Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Manuel Busto. In 2024, he appeared as a soloist in Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle with the RTVE Orchestra and Choir.

 

In 2025, he has taken part in three notable engagements: he performed the role of Vidal in

Luisa Fernanda in La Palma (Gran Canaria), in a production by the National Orchestra of

Uruguay, under the stage direction of Maestro Ximo Solano; he participated in the

contemporary opera Atlantis at the Teatro Real del Retiro; and he performed the role of Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro in Venice. Additionally, in 2025, he received the Amigos de la Ópera de Madrid Prize and the Atlántico Study Grant at the International Competition of Alcalá de Henares.

Upcoming engagements include a lyric gala at the Sala Argenta of the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria and a recital at the Sala Pereda, also at the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria.

 

His repertoire includes roles such as Il Conte Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Dr. Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Valentin (Faust), Fritz (Die tote Stadt), Vidal (Luisa Fernanda), and Joaquín (La del manojo de rosas), among others.
