Teona Todua was born in Donetsk, Ukraine, and is of Georgian descent. She began her musical education studying piano in her hometown before turning to vocal studies. In 2011, she entered the P. Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kyiv, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in opera singing in 2021, followed by a Master’s degree in 2023. She continued her development as a young artist in the Opera Academy of the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, as well as in the Académie de l’Opéra national de Paris. In March 2023, she took part in an artistic exchange with the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program of the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Teona Todua has been awarded several prizes in international competitions, including 3rd Prize at the Grandi Voci Competition in Istanbul (2020), 1st Prize at the Wassyl Slipak Competition in Lviv, and 3rd Prize at the Neue Stimmen Competition in October 2024.
