Carlos Cosías won the first edition of the Manuel Ausensi Singing Competition in Barcelona, reaffirming this triumph that same year with the Plácido Domingo-Pepita Embil Award for Best Zarzuela Singer at the Plácido Domingo Operalia International Competition and also taking second place in the Francesc Viñas International Singing Competition at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, he also won the Award for Best Performer of Donizetti and the Award for Best Spanish Singer.

The Spanish Lyric Association awarded him the 2015 Best Male Voice Award.

He has starred in Il Giovedi grasso, Don Pasquale, L’elisir d’amore, Anna Bolena, Lucia di Lammermoor, Il matrimonio segreto, Sonnambula, Die Zauberflöte, Don Giovanni. Macbeth, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Falstaff, Gianni Schicchi, La Bohème, Juana de Arco en la hoguera, etc. Zarzuela works such as Marina, Doña Francisquita, Los Diamantes de la Corona and Galanteos en Venecia, La tempestad, La vida breve, El Rey que Rabio, Don Gil de Alcalá, Cançó d’amor i de guerra.

He has made his debut on opera stages such as El Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, Calgliari Opera, Maggio Fiorentino Musicale, Nice Opera, Teatre Capitol in Toulouse, Antibes Opera, Teatro Nacional Sao Carlos in Lisbon, Croatian National Theater, Busan and Culture Theatre in Korea, Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo, Teatro Maestranza in Seville, Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao, Teatro Gayarre de Pamplona, Gran Teatro de Córdoba, Teatro la Farándula de Sabadell, among others.

Other fields that interest him are the concert and recital, having debuted on stages such as the Gran Teatro del Liceo (Barcelona), Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona), Auditorio Príncipe de Asturias (Oviedo), Auditorio Mguel Delibes (Valladolid), Teatre La Faràndula (Sabadell), Auditorio de Leioa (Vizkaya), Auditori Barradas (L’Hospitalet) or the Teatre Principal de Palma de Mallorca and Menorca, as well as giving recitals in venues such as the Círculo del Liceo or the Foyer of the Gran Teatre del Liceu dedicated to Vincenzo Bellini, Felip Pedrell, Giuseppe Verdi. Some of the works he has performed in the field of oratorio are Rossini‘s La petite Misse solennelle, Mozart‘s Messa di Coronazione, and Verdi‘s Messa da Requiem, Miserere by Benet Andreu.

Carlos Cosías has worked with conductors such as Fabio Luisi, Marco Guiradini, Daniele Callegari, Bertrand De Billy, Sergio Monterisi, Yves Abel, Marco Zambelli, Gerard Korsten, Miguel Ortega, Cristobal Soler, Josep Pons, Oliver Díaz, Lucas Macias, Guillermo García Calvo, David Giménez Carreras, José Miguel Pérez Sierra, Julia Jones, Guerassim Voronkov, Rubén Gimeno, Daniel Martínez, among others. He has taken part in performances at the Festival del Mil-leni, alongside José Carreras, Jaime Aragall, Juan Pons and Isabel Rey. Outside Spain he has given concerts and recitals in Sant Genis de Fontane, Nice, Hamburg (with Plácido Domingo), Munich, Salisbury (England), Washington, Swon and Pusan (South Korea).
